A number of loan brokers are located in the local area and can arrange debt consolidation lending products.
Consolidation can be an effective way to reduce debt servicing costs but it’s a potentially risky strategy for the borrower. The risk to homeowners of securing debt against their property is especially acute.
Lenders also consider debt consolidation to be risky. Cardiff & Vale Credit Union don’t offer their cheapest loans for credit consolidation purposes for example.
The Money Advice Service recommends getting expert debt advice before consolidating debts into a single new loan.
The burden of personal debt is high in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. Cardiff in particular recently finished second in a list of UK cities with the highest proportion of residents in debt.
It can be difficult to make the first step of reaching out for help and advice with debt. Advisers understand this difficulty and will go out of their way to treat you with empathy and sympathy.
There’s always a solution to a debt problem, so please don’t hesitate to get expert help.
